Recommended ID Blogs

This is my very first blog, so I assure you that as time progresses it will become a better reflection of myself. As of now, here's what I have to offer:

Below you will find three (3) blogs that sparked my interest as an Instructional Designer in training with a great deal of interest in eLearning and technology.

(1) the Shady Learning Blog: http://shadylearning.wordpress.com/ - This blog has hooked me with its great eLearning examples, ID articles, and stories. I truly enjoyed the ID Lessons from  "The Electric Company". It provided a demonstration of how Instructional Design was actually used in its simplest forms to educate kids on the use of the silent "e". After reading this I thought to myself, "Wow, it really can be just that simple to explain something complex". This post followed up by providing a Wikapedia form of instruction for the same silent "e" lesson, which proved complicated and boring. This post really brought to the forefront the purpose for an ID.

(2) The Learning Circuits Blog: http://learningcircuits.blogspot.com/  - Another great informational blog for IDs. It provides a community feature of learning circuits dedicated to sharing ideas and opinions about the state of learning and technology. The first thing that caught my attention with this blog was that it's ASTD's source for E-learning. I attend ASTD meetings from time to time and find the information provided in these meetings to be helpful in my current position, and future interests. This blog is provided with a monthly question which hones in on a priority topic facing learning professionals. Anyone can contribute to the LC Blog. It’s Blogmeister is Tony Karrer, CEO/CTO of TecEmpower and designer of the E-Harmony site. He also runs the eLearning Technology blog, Work Literacy, and theeLearning Learning topic hub. This is a great learning resource for the ID and Training professional.

(3) The Rapid eLearning Blog: http://www.articulate.com/rapid-elearning - Great blog for eLearning tips used by experienced Instructional Designers. This blog really caught my attention with it’s post, “What Everybody Ought to Know about Instructional Design”. This post used a great video example of how a lesson could be right before you, and the message could be missed with through too much instruction. There are great eLearning posts to read within this site.
